Begisnners Guide to Crystal Loving

What the heck is the big deal with Crystals?  In new age circles and various spiritual groups, people mention these mysterious specimens called crystals. Crystals and crystal healing are healing methods passed on from our ancients. Once on the path, it is no coincidence that you begin attracting crystals into your life. Crystals are guided to us for guidance, healing, growth and revelation.

In many ways we attract what we are, Crystals are a perfect example of who we are innately and how we operate. In many ways I believe we attract crystals because we start aligning with our crystalline energy. We’ll dive deeper into that in a bit.

This article is for newcomers, if you are well experienced with crystals you can roll your eyes, read for fun or pass this guide along for others 🙂

In my beginning articles I went over the Power of Crystals and how they are substantial towards electromagnetic frequencies. Therefore I won’t go too deep into that because you can read more here.  However let’s break this down with a few Questions that I tend to get around Crystals.

HOW DO CRYSTALS WORK?

As a beginner, believing and listening to a rock may seem a little out there to some and that’s mainly because of society’s modern conditioning. However people such as the Native Americans believed in the philosophy that the Earth is a living being and that everything is alive. Minerals such as Crystals are conscious, they think and perceive while generating a frequency.

Light is made from frequency and vibration. It is the belief that powers the frequency, the frequency fuels the action into being through the spectrum of light.

The trick to using crystals is the belief in them. Believing that these are very powerful beings of energy, they’re not just stones like a lot of people believe. They have a soul just like everything else in this Earth so we have to listen and love these creatures. In the same way like the tarot deck we are drawn to the stones that we need to help guide us on our life path towards healing and expansion.

The natural raw stones have a geometrical matrix made from the platonic solids, their energy structure aligns with us because we both have crystalline nature within us. Crystals are chemistry at the basic level but deep on the energetic level they are built around geometric design.

If you think about it, our blood is water, water transforms through a process of cymatics due to the symmetry of frequency. Now if you are working on raising your vibration higher it begins activating the crystalline energy. What have we been doing this whole time “waiting for ascension” is really about raising our vibrations to oscillate at a higher frequency, carbon based bodies into crystalline.

Crystals find you, you don’t find them 😉

In laymans terms, you are being draw to these unique creatures to see that you are a crystal.

DOES SIZE MATTER?

Not necessarily, It’s moreso about the vibration it’s emitting not the material weight or size. I have had positive experiences with

9 Winter Solstice Superstitions & What They Mean That Will Prepare You For Dec. 21 By ALLI HOFF KOSIK

I’m sure your top concern as we approach the upcoming winter solstice may be just how many more minutes of sun you’re going to get during your commute each day, but the truth is that the event is steeped in history and tradition that goes far beyond our modern taste for convenience and, well, light. With history, of course, comes superstition, so I did a little research and pulled together some details about some winter solstice superstitions, where they come from, what they mean, and how they play into the way we observe the month of December in modern times (if at all).

First, a brief lesson in what the winter solstice actually is: According to the trusty Farmer’s Almanac, it’s the day each year that has the fewest hours of sunlight, thanks to the fact that the sun reaches its southernmost point and begins moving north. The winter solstice is also the first day of the astronomical winter (the meteorological winter kicks off several weeks earlier). Since 2017’s winter solstice will take place on Dec. 21, the days will begin getting longer as of Dec. 22. Did I just make your (very short) day?

Now that we’ve got the basics down, check out these superstitions.

1. Dark Spirits Walk The Earth During The Winter Solstice

Shab-e Yalda — the Iranian festival that celebrates the birth of the ancient sun god who triumphed over darkness — is celebrated on the longest night of the year, aka the winter solstice. To observe the festival, a feast of watermelon, nuts, and pomegranate seeds is consumed… but that’s not all. Because of the light vs. dark symbolism, ancient lore holds that evil spirits wander the earth on this night stronger than ever, according to MentalFloss. There are shades of similar superstitions in Celtic and Germanic folklore too.

2. The 2012 Winter Solstice Should Have Been The End Of The World

Remember the 2012 end of days hysteria? Thankfully, it was nothing more than a superstition — but it was a superstition rooted in Mayan history. The winter solstice of that year (Dec. 21, 2012) corresponded to the date 13.0.0.0.0 on the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar and was the end of a 5126-year cycle. According to the superstition, these numbers were symbolic of the end of the world, or some other catastrophe.

3. The 2012 Winter Solstice Should Have Kicked Off A Worldwide Transformation

The flip side of the “Winter Solstice as the end of days” coin? The New Age belief that the significance of Dec. 21, 2012 was one of rebirth and transformation. Some believed that the Earth and all of its inhabitants would experience some sort of wonderful metamorphosis on that day.

4. The Winter Solstice Honors The Coming Of The Light

If you’ve been counting the minutes until you can leave the office when it’s still light outside, this one should make a lot of sense to you. Given the fact that

How time on the yoga mat prepares me for magick

yoga-blog-post24

This morning, I resumed a dedicated home yoga practice after a long hiatus. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve done yoga every day for years, but for the last few, it’s come in fits and starts throughout the day. A quick plank while I wait for the tea kettle; tree pose as I wait for the printer at work to spit out my report; standing forward bend as I unload the dishwasher or put food in the cats’ bowls… nothing that FLOWS from one pose into another. I think of it as isolated acts of yoga. Definitely not a formal practice.

I recently traveled to England for a whirlwind work trip. Like, land at Heathrow on Sunday morning, pull into my driveway at midnight Tuesday. I decided to take the time zone shake-up as an opportunity to set my alarm for an hour earlier than usual to reestablish a morning yoga practice. And while I was on the mat this morning, focusing on breath and body, I thought, “This feels magical. AND MAGICKAL.”

Breath. Body. Energy. Intention.

Everything clicked. All those years I was practicing yoga were preparation for practicing magick.

In yoga, you coordinate your movements with your breath, while focusing on an intention (typically related to the pose). I am a mountain standing tall and firm. My roots reach deep into the earth and my peak rises into the clouds. I am connected to all around me.

I am a witch, calling on Earth and Sky. Your energies flow up through the soles of my feet and in through the crown of my head. I am connected to all around me. I shape my world.

Not so different.

The listening and focus of yoga mirrors the listening and focus that attunes us to our clairsenses and intuition. My chest opens. I settle deeper into my practice. The energy flow intensifies. I feel tingling in my ribs, a call to open even wider. Later, when I work magic, I feel a warmth in my hand, a message from my guides to pour more light into the amulet I am crafting.

Not so different at all.

Namaste. Blessed be.
