Many people think that taking care of yourself is selfish or arrogant. No. It isn’t. It is wise to take care of yourself and discover your strengths and weaknesses….also know as your light and dark side.
It is my belief that if you begin to delve into the light side (your strengths), first you can and will become strong within yourself. You will begin to learn what truly makes your soul feel good AND you will become your own master, meaning that you won’t need validation from anyone else regarding your decisions. For me, this is one of the main ways to become stronger…self validation and self love.
From my experiences, I’ve learned that if I make a decision to do something, it needs to be because I want to do it, and not because I want my mom, dad, family, friends, or mate to pat me on the back and give me their approval. Yes, it would be nice if this would happen, but It doesn’t always. The need is to be comfortable with your decisions. There is truly NO NEED to look to others to tell you that you are doing it right. It’s important to learn that you are in control of yourself, your decisions and how you respond to someone or something.
On the other side, there is the the dark side (your weaknesses). Yes, it can be quite daunting to look at the dark side of yourself, but if you don’t do it willingly, circumstances will arise that will force you to and believe me when I tell you that It is better to just go ahead and do it willingly.
Sometimes, looking at the dark side, or your weaknesses can be hard to do, especially if you are the type that likes to be right. It makes it easier if we all just remember that no one is perfect and there are ALWAYS two sides to every story. No one is just light, no one is just darkness. We are always a mixture of both, weather you want to admit it or not, it just is so.
Even though we may not like what we find, it’s important to delve deep and really look at how we are, weather good or bad. Try to do it as soon as possible and don’t end up waiting. Weight broke the wagon they say. Just do it now. Take responsibility for yourself, your thoughts, your actions, and most of all, take responsibility for your words. It’s so true that once the words are out of our mouth, they can’t be taken back and sometimes that can do a hell of a lot of damage. Words can last a lifetime. Words can either destroy or they can build up.
Words are also magick, and it’s up to you how you direct your words. Will will you do harm, or will you leed in the ways of positivity? Don’t forget the saying that goes, “be careful what you wish for.” Well, it is true. Your thoughts and your words hold power, magickal power. If you wish to create for good…it is possible. However, also know that if you wish to create for bad…it’s also possible. You always direct the situation for good or bad. Always think about what you say and do because you will affect not just yourself, but others as well.
Take the time to care for yourself. Ground. Meditate. Cleanse. Be active. Be mindful to yourself and others. Drink lots of sparkling, clean water. Eat healthy fruit and veggies. Keep a journal and write in it every day, even one on the computer will do. Make the time for yourself, even if it is just 20 minutes per day. This is important. You are important.
